Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest's red color was introduced when the club was founded at a meeting in the Clinton Arms pub in 1865. The players then ordered a dozen 'Garibaldi-red' caps for their newly formed team. The color was inspired by the Italian volunteer legion 'The Redshirts', led by Giuseppe Garibaldi, which was popular in England due to their exploits. Five years after Nottingham Forest was founded, Garibaldi also completed the unification of Italy.
