The club was founded in 1910 by 19 members from another club, BK Idrott, which played their matches in blue and white. However, until 1920, Malmö FF played in red and white striped shirts, colors that today are found in the team's away kit. During a late summer tour in Germany in 1920, the team reverted to the blue color. In 1930, a new emblem was also introduced, incorporating the sky blue color.
